Recently Marion Technical Institute was at the
crossroads of sustaining their Automotive Technology Academy for the current
semester due to a leave of absence by a course instructor. Ford Lincoln of Ocala became aware of the circumstance and the shop
foreman Jimmy Mancil stepped up to volunteer his time each
Thursday to offer hands-on training to these young aspiring automotive
technicians.
Ford Lincoln of Ocala
has a lengthy devoted history with MTI
dating back to the school’s inception in 2005 when former General Manager and
Vice President Gary Scott of Ford of Ocala decided to join the Board of
Directors spearheading the Automotive Academy stating” one of his greatest
career achievements was playing an instrumental part in the formation of MTI’s automotive program”. Twenty-one
years later the legacy and commitment to MTI
and Public Education lives on by long
time General Manager and Vice President Steve Hollosi.
MTI is Marion County’s
vocational school that offers 9 on-campus academies and open enrollment
opportunities while students still earn their high school diploma. The students
get hands on experience in their academy classes and are given the opportunity
to earn impressive national certifications. The school works closely with local
businesses and industry leaders to provide students with internship
opportunities. Ford Lincoln of Ocala
is proud to support of the Marion
Technical Institute and provide internships to those in the Automotive
Academy. For additional information visit marionschools.net
